How to apply?

Italian Authenticity

Made by Italians is an independent trademark that recognises authentically Italian enterprises operating abroad in one of the four traditional industries: food, fashion, furniture, and mechanical engineering. These are known in Italy as “the “four As”: Agroalimentare (food), Abbigliamento (fashion), Arredamento (furniture) and Automobili (automobiles).

Authentically Italian 

To earn the Made by Italians mark, an enterprise embraces five key values:

  1. People – Italians are part of the team, from ownership to employees.

  2. Tradition – authentic techniques, recipes, and craftsmanship are preserved and passed on.

  3. Language – Italian is spoken with customers, keeping culture alive in every interaction.

  4. Heritage – Italian ownership and leadership help guide the enterprise.

  5. Origin – products and materials are predominantly of Italian provenance.

Application process

Interested  businesses can apply for the Made by Italians trademark by sending the completed application form (modulo di adesione). Application language is Italian only!

All the criteria have to be fulfilled. Dispensation is possible from one or more criteria, in the event that other conditions are acceptable.

All applications are treated and approved by an Evaluation Board.

Once the application and supporting documentation is received, the Evaluation Board will make its decision regarding final approval.

What is the difference between an Affiliate and a Partner?

As Affiliate you can join Made by Italians for free of charge and enjoy a lower range of services (see below) than the Partner and Partner-Certified members who, for an annual fee, enjoy privileged benefits (see the full list below)

* The Partner-Certified member is visited following the first 12 months and in each of the following two years. Each autumn the criteria will be monitored, where members are required to present specific documentation drawn up by Made by Italians. * The trademark can be retracted if certification criteria are not adhered to.

The application form will include contact data for both personal and corporate applications as follows:

  • Personal contact data (for internal use of Made by Italians).
  • Business contact data (made public on the Made by Italians website and on social media).
  • Data for the evaluation of the 5 parameters required.
  • Membership category (Affiliate, Partner, Partner-Certified).
  • Benefits and offers to followers of Made by Italians.

The application process in three steps:

3) If successful, you will get the approval and the payment form accordingly
